2013 NFL Mock Draft- Wild Card Edition

2013-draft-logo-story

1.Kansas City Chiefs- Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

With West Virginia Quarterback Geno Smith struggling mightily during the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, it is hard to see the Chiefs reaching at a quarterback that has come up short in big spots.

2nd round pick-  QB-Matt Barkley,USC.

2.Jacksonville Jaguars- Bjoern Werner, DE/OLB, Florida State After finishing dead last in sacks, the Jaguars are looking to make an impact in this years draft. Werner fits as an off the edge pass rusher with a mean streak.

2nd round pick- WR, Justin Hunter, Tenn.

 3. Oakland Raiders- Star Lotulelei, NT, Utah

The Raiders are in for an overhaul in the Defensive Line department and Lotulelei is what the black and silver need. A 2012 1st Team All-American, who can play both 4-3 DT positions plus all spots in a 3-4.

2nd round pick- None

4. Philadelphia Eagles-Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia

With Mike Vick about to hit the free agent market, and Nick Foles not being the answer in the city of brotherly love, Geno Smith can be the boost in the arm that the Eagles need. Now to see who will fill the void left by Andy Reid following his firing on New Years Eve.

2nd round pick-Xaiver Rhodes, CB, Florida State.

 5. Detroit Lions-Damontre Moore, DE/OLB, Texas A&M

The underachieving Lions are taking the top guy on their board as they’re expecting to lose  Kyle Vanden Bosch. Moore will play opposite Cliff Avril. Making Detroits pass rush one of the toughest in the league.

2nd Round Pick-Barrett Jones, OL, Alabama.

6.Cleveland Browns- Manti Te’o, LB, Notre Dame

Want to envision a Running Backs worst nightmare? Well just think about having D’Qwell Jackson as your weak-side middle linebacker, with Heisman Award runner-up Manti Te’o on the strong side. Usually Cleveland is the destination where top draft prospects fade away into obscurity, but T’eo might be able to break the mold.

2nd round pick-None

 7. Arizona CardinalsEric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan

There is no use for the Cardinals to reach on a Quarterback this early if they’re unable to protect him. Fisher will provide protection on outside for many years to come, regardless of who the signal caller will be.

2nd round pick-Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina

8.Buffalo Bills- Keenan Allen, WR, California

The Bills number one concern in the 2013 draft is drafting a QB, but this years crop being so hit or miss, Keenan Allen would be the perfect option for them in the first round. Allen across from Stevie Johnson will give whom ever the Bills pick in the later rounds a dream receiving corps.

2nd round pick-Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse

9.New York Jets-Jarvis Jones, DE/OLB, Georgia

Jarvis Jones and fills a massive need for the Jets. The team registered just 30 sacks this season. Jones, with 26 sacks in two years , has speed off the edge and ahead of his class pass rushing moves. Needs to improve against the run for the NFL though.

2nd round pick-Tyler Wilson, QB, Arkansas

10.Tennessee Titans-  Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State

With cornerback Alterraun Verner set to hit free agency, acquiring a potential replacement becomes a priority for the Titans, and the addition of Mississippi State’s Johnthan Banks, who won the Thorpe Award as college football’s top defensive back this year, would fit the bill to a tee.

2nd round pick-Tony Jefferson, S, Oklahoma

11.San Diego Chargers-Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

Chargers QB Phillip Rivers is in need of a change in scenery, but if he is not under center anywhere else, look for the bolts to find better ways to protect Rivers. Lewan will do just that.

2nd round pick-Margus Hunt, DE/DT, SMU

12.Miami Dolphins DeMarcus Milliner, CB, Alabama

Alabama’s Dee Milliner, the All-American has the 6’1″ size, speed and coverage skills to immediately make an impact in South Beach. Which will come in handy, when facing the Patriots twice a year.

2nd round pick-DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Clemson

 13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon

With most of the the Buccs line being unable to stay healthy, adding Jordan will add youth and some drive to a defense that can soon be the leagues top if they keep playing their cards right.

2nd round pick-Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida

14.Carolina Panthers-Johnathan Hankins NT, Ohio State

Hankins is a 322-pound junior who racked up  55 tackles for the Buckeyes in 2012. Which is what the Panthers need to patch the whole they have over center on defense.

2nd round pick- Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma

 15.New Orleans Saints-Chance Warmack, G, Alabama

Coming of a up and down season in the Big Easy, the Saints need to bulk up on the o-line if they’re going to have any chance of competing going forward.

2nd  round pick-None

 16. St. Louis Rams-Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee

With Danny Amendola likely being on his way out, The Rams can make it a second straight year of building weapons around QB Sam Bradford.

2nd round pick-Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon State

 17.Pittsburgh SteelersBarkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU

The Steelers defense is getting older, and it’s showing. Look for Mingo to replace James Harrison in the coming year.

2nd round pick-Robert Woods, WR, USC

 18. Dallas Cowboys-Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU

The ‘Boys will add the athletic Ansah to an D-line across from D-Ware, in order to combat RGIII and the Redskins soon to be explosive offense.

2nd round pick-Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford

 19. New York Giants-Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia

The G-men have a tough D-line, but after that the rest of the Giants defense is as soft as cotton pillows. Adding Ogletree will as some brass to this faltering defense.

2nd round pick- T.J. McDonald, S, USC

20.Chicago Bears- Dallas Thomas, OT, Tennessee

The offensive line remains the most glaring area of need for the Bears, and Dallas Thomas, who played both guard and tackle for the Volunteers, would be an excellent fit.

2nd round pick-Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina

Playoff teams will be mocked once final rankings are determined.
